ÉLOI, THE OBOE WHICH HAD LOST ITS A

Musical tale

4 YEARS AND OVER

IN COLLABORATION WITH THE FESTIVAL DE LANAUDIÈRE

On the day of the concert, Éloi, clumsy, nervous and moody, realizes... that he's lost his A. No matter how hard he looked, his A was gone! That's probably why harmony has disappeared, and why no one can hear each other anymore. Travelling along the musical staves, visiting each instrument family along the way, Éloi embarks on a quest to find the precious note. But he won't succeed alone, since harmony, like music, can only exist when we create it... together.

The characters

ÉLOI, THE OBOE WHICH HAD LOST ITS A

"What?! And the concert is coming up... If I don't have my La, I won't be able to give it to others! And if I can't give it to others... Goodbye
the music!"

- Éloi, with growing panic.

A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

-Harmony-

Éloi, le hautbois qui avait perdu son La is a theatrical tale. A tale about harmony. But what exactly is harmony? For us, it's the blend of balance, accuracy and beauty that comes from being perfectly and simply together. In a musical ensemble, the instruments are all tuned to one and the same note: the A given by the oboe. In our story, this oboe is called Éloi. Travelling the musical staves, he embarks on a quest to find the precious note. But he will not succeed alone... "

media coverage

-The Echoes-

Outsmart Time, Duty

"If the story is carried out with rigor by the actors, that the very energetic staging - punctuated by music, dance recalling the different countries visited - is just as attractive to the eye as to the ear, the interaction with the public adds to the success of the performance."

Monthetre.qc.ca

"Around the World in 80 Days, by Jules Verne, written nearly 150 years ago, has never seemed so bursting with energy and youth as in this production from the Théâtre Advienne que Peut."

– Daphné Bathalon

A journey to the four corners of the world

"The play, which has several locations, taking its audience from London to New York, via Bombay and Hong Kong, brings additional challenges to the director, who must demonstrate a great deal of ingenuity in order to respect this text, which includes a multitude of incredible adventures and several dozen characters."

– Louise Bourbonnais
