Resistances
In creation
historical theater-fiction
12 years and over
Lodz. 1939. On the eve of her entry into secondary school, Regina's life and those of her friends is disrupted by the war.
How can you resist, even at the dawn of your youth, when the world is overrun by fear and division?
How can we remain ourselves when a society, poisoned by a hateful ideology, puts us in the dock ?
No trace remains of Régina's adolescence, except for a little origami crane.
As she unfolds the bird, her youth comes back to life. An unlikely youth where friendship, art, culture and paper are the main weapons in an astonishing quest for freedom.

"When the Nazis came for the Communists, I said nothing, I wasn't a Communist. When they locked up the Social Democrats, I said nothing, I wasn't a Social Democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I said nothing, I wasn't a trade unionist. When they came for me, there was no one left to protest."
- Martin Niemöller
A word from the author
I love history for the stories behind it. The stories of men and women, of young people who, through their actions, held their heads high, dignified, at a time when what happened next seemed impossible. As I began the process of creating the show, I went out to meet young people to explore this dark period in human history. Together, we asked questions, met a survivor, cried and laughed. What I retain from these encounters is a need for light. That's what guided me. With the support of the Holocaust Museum and the Azrieli Foundation, I set out in search of hope in one of the darkest periods in history.
The people who inspired me, if they're old now, were only 13, 14, 15 at the time. They were young. He hadn't asked for anything. He had nothing to confront this world devastated by hatred and intolerance. He had nothing. Except perhaps friends, a boundless imagination, a sense of humor that was more pertinent than it seemed, and a few scraps of paper, mostly paper.

-The Echoes-
Outsmart Time, Duty
"If the story is carried out with rigor by the actors, that the very energetic staging - punctuated by music, dance recalling the different countries visited - is just as attractive to the eye as to the ear, the interaction with the public adds to the success of the performance."

"Around the World in 80 Days, by Jules Verne, written nearly 150 years ago, has never seemed so bursting with energy and youth as in this production from the Théâtre Advienne que Peut."
– Daphné Bathalon
A journey to the four corners of the world
"The play, which has several locations, taking its audience from London to New York, via Bombay and Hong Kong, brings additional challenges to the director, who must demonstrate a great deal of ingenuity in order to respect this text, which includes a multitude of incredible adventures and several dozen characters."
– Louise Bourbonnais
