Advienne que pourra Theatre

Pushing back the frontiers

Mission

Théâtre Advienne que pourra's MISSION is to broaden the cultural horizons of our young and not-so-young. We see theater as an essential tool for learning about their identity. Beyond languages, translations, codes, beliefs, religions and differences, we want our actions to be a lever for opening up to the world.

It's through the combination of diverse artistic perspectives that our artistic signature is built. Dramatic art, movement, circus, music, the intermingling of the living arts leads us to consider our practice as an art produced by curious and versatile artists, with the aim of decompartmentalizing the possibilities of dramatic and scenic language.

Our history

In 2005, Frédéric Bélanger, Sarah Balleux, Maryse Drainville and Audrey Thériault founded the company with the aim of creating a first show, without suspecting that this would be the start of a long adventure. The die was cast: "advienne que pourra"! Since July 2023, Frédéric Bélanger has been General Manager of the company, whose business volume is constantly growing. He is supported by his dynamic team, which includes Martin Lebrun (executive assistant and cultural mediation project manager), Carole Forest (accounting) and Josée Fontaine Rubi (technical management).

After more than 17 years, 17 shows have been created. 17 shows inspired by
Molière, Vernes, Dumas, Féval, Conan Doyle, De la Chenelière, Twain, Perreault, Shakespeare, which have toured the stages of Quebec.

Art Direction

"Being curious and having fun. We're always eager to discover, to explore, to move from one universe to another, from one author to another: it's one of the great opportunities of our profession.

Be in the moment, on the lookout for new ideas. We are passionate about the great works of theater and literature. We always put ourselves at their service.

The meeting of different art forms helps us to look at the world in a way that is both tender and caustic. The starting point is always the play: in the theater, we tell stories and carry them out with characters, actors and teams.

Working together is part of our nature. TAQP is a place for exchange, exploration and discussion. We stay in touch with our society, questioning our approach. We share our vision in a spirit of complicity, whether with our loyal collaborators or through encounters with new artists and audiences. Each project is an opportunity to push back the frontiers of our imagination. Together."
