COPRODUCTION THÉÂTRE DU DENISE PELLETIER AND LE THÉÂTRE ADVIENNE QUE POURRA
At the dawn of the nineteenthe century in England, as the Bennet family finds itself penniless, the three sisters of the clan must take husbands to unclutter their future. But the independent Elizabeth refuses to submit to dogma, arranged marriages and feigned politeness. She ploughs her own path, unbowed by the weight of worldliness. Her only law? Her uncompromising love for her own.
When she meets the aristocratic Darcy, whose rank and education keep him at the top of the social ladder, she remains true to herself. This collision between the vain Darcy and the proud Elizabeth promises a passion in which pride and prejudice must learn to keep quiet and let the bellies whisper. Do social roles dominate us to the point of hindering authentic encounters? How can we love as freely as possible, and still live up to the word "human"?

Frédéric Bélanger and Rébecca Déraspe: a stunning duo
The two partners in La nuit des roisdirector Frédéric Bélanger and author Rébecca Déraspe, eagerly seize upon this novel written by Jane Austen in 1813, promising a new transformation. Led by a cast synonymous with vivacity, this co-production with Théâtre Advienne que pourra (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Jules & Joséphine) is rooted in the considerable courage of its characters, who inhabit them from the gut, from the heart.
