Meeting young audiences

Alongside its creative activities, Théâtre Advienne que Pourra has developed a solid expertise in cultural mediation. It encourages audience encounters and qualitative development by organizing preparatory activities in the classroom, exploratory workshops and creating educational tools for primary and secondary school students and teachers.
Students can explore behind the scenes of creation and learn more about the profession of professional artist.

Discovering the Wizards of Oz

Level: primary cycle 2 and 3
Duration: 1 hour (or one class period)

Who are these behind-the-scenes artists who create magic on stage? What goes through their minds when they imagine a show? How do they work?

This pre-performance workshop is inspired by Lincoln Center Education's approach to aesthetic education. After discussing the challenges of the play, we propose a playful creative workshop where students are invited to experience the creative process of the show's designers.

What is philotheatre?

Preparatory workshop, 1st cycle of primary school
Duration: one class period (55 to 60 minutes)

The aim of the workshop is to arouse students' curiosity before they attend the performance of The Wizard of Oz, and to invite them to sharpen their critical thinking skills, interpret the issues experienced by the various characters in the play and explore the world of emotions. Inspired by the philo-theatrical approach, the activity is designed by an artist-mediator specialized in this approach.
